Our Lesotho workshop takes you high into the Kingdom in the Sky,
visiting the spectacular landscapes of Sehlabathebe and
Semongkong.
In Sehlabathebe, you’ll photograph mountain tarns,
rolling valleys, and dramatic peaks, especially stunning during the
rainy season when the landscape is alive with colour. In Semongkong,
towering cliffs and impressive waterfalls create striking compositions
and dynamic scenes.
With Kyle and Jon guiding you, you’ll focus on
composition, light, and capturing the textures, colours, and moods
that make this region so unique.
This workshop combines adventure
with hands-on learning, offering the chance to create breathtaking
images while enjoying a fun, supportive, and inspiring environment.
Lesotho is a small country within South Africa that is known for its mountainous terrain, cascading waterfalls, and abundance of scenic beauty. It is a hidden gem for landscape photographers, and one of the must-see destinations in Lesotho is the Maletsunyane Falls and Sehlabathebe National Park.
The Maletsunyane Falls is located in the southern part of Lesotho. It is one of the highest single-drop waterfalls in the world, with a height of 192 meters. The waterfall, which is fed by the Maletsunyane River, offers a unique and breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. From the top, you can see the mist rising from the bottom of the falls and the lush greenery surrounding it. The best time to visit the falls is during the rainy season when the water flow is at its highest.
Sehlabathebe National Park is another destination that offers a wealth of opportunities for landscape photographers. The park is home to a wide range of wildlife, including elands, leopards, and over 200 bird species. The park also offers a diverse range of landscapes, including rocky outcrops, grasslands, and mountain ranges that form part of the greater Drakensberg range.
But it is the mountain tarns that make this region so unique and special to landscape photographers. These tarns (small mountain lakes) offer stunning reflections of the Drakensberg mountains behind, allowing for exquisite shots of this area with its grand mountains and interesting rock formations.

This tour caters to beginners and advanced shooters. However, we do recommend that photographers are familiar with their camera settings and layout and are comfortable shooting in manual mode. If you are unsure about your skill level or gear please feel free to contact us and ask any questions.
